Electrical Engineer

We are looking for engineers that are willing to be hands on with our engineering and field service group.

  • Provide engineering related design, analysis and studies for domestic and international projects.
  • Perform power factor analysis and correction, harmonic modeling and analysis, and grounding analysis.
  • Conduct short-circuit, protective device coordination and arc-flash studies.
  • Interact with customers to gather critical information and review engineering plans.
  • Design and troubleshoot protective relaying and controls.
  • Occasionally work with our Field Services team on shut-down, startup and maintenance projects.

Minimum Qualifications:

To qualify for consideration, you must meet each of the following minimum qualifications and requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in power system design, system studies or field services
  • Willingness to be hands and work in the field alongside our field technicians.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Must be able to clearly communicate in English via verbal and written methods, and effectively communicate directly to customers and co-workers.
  • Prefer educational focus in Power Systems studies.
  • Prefer candidates who have passed the FE Exam.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license a plus, or working towards obtaining.
  • Experience performing protective relay projects a plus.

  • Experience in short-circuit, protective device coordination, arc-flash and power quality studies a plus.
  • Experience using SKM, ETAP, ASPEN, EasyPower, or other power system modeling software a plus.

Requirements:

  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and periodic, unannounced random drug tests.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment criminal background check.
  • Must be able to crawl, climb, stand and lift up to 75 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodations. Must be able to pass a fit for duty physical exam.
  • Must have a valid drivers license, and currently have and be able to maintain a good driving record.

Sales Account Manager

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Electrical/Electrical Construction background preferred
  • Previous industrial/electrical sales experience preferred
  • Industrious, organized, determined, self-starter with the ability to close orders and provide post-sales support
  • Professional appearance and attitude
  • Proficient using the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to present to multiple levels within a customer

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Take an active role in selling all services provided by Veteran Electrical Power Systems by establishing working relationships with accounts in Southern California
  • Maintain relationships with an already established customer base and develop new sales opportunities within those accounts
  • Develop territory sales and marketing plan in conjunction with Southern California Field Sales Manager
  • Generate new business in the territory
  • Ensure timely response to customers and serve as the key contact and liaison for customers to ensure total customer satisfaction
  • Work closely with customers, suppliers, and internal Veteran Electrical Power Systems staff to evaluate and identify customer requirements
  • Participate in training sessions, trade shows, seminars and sales meetings
  • Research shows, expositions and other mass marketing events in territory
  • Occasional night and/or weekend travel is required
